Service 01
Brand & Design
Identity work that survives contact with the real world.
A logo is usually the first thing anyone learns about a business, and it has to keep working long after the excitement of the launch: on a van, in an email signature, at 16 pixels, on a box on a shelf. We design identities for the whole of that life, not for the presentation.

- Businesses whose identity was made once, years ago, and has drifted since
- Companies entering a new market or category and needing to look like they belong in it
- Founders who have a name and nothing else yet

Do you work with our existing brand or start again?
Whichever is worth more. If there is real recognition in the current mark we will usually argue for a refresh, and it costs less. We did exactly that for Orrell Plant Hire, who came to us wanting a replacement.
Who owns the artwork when the project ends?
You do, outright, including working files. It is written into the terms rather than being something you have to ask for.
Can you work alongside our in-house designer?
Often the best arrangement. We build the system, your designer runs it day to day, and we stay available for the awkward applications.
What do you need from us to start?
Two hours of the people who decide, whatever research you already have, and access to whoever produces your print. That last one saves more time than the first two.
What if we do not like either route?
A third route at no extra cost. It has happened twice in fourteen years, and both times it was because we had misread the brief rather than the client changing their mind.
